The city of Prijedor intends to form a new business zone in the Gornji Orlovci, after the transfer of land from the state to the local level is approved, the mayor of Prijedor, Dalibor Pavlović, confirmed for eKapija.
It is approximately 70 hectares of land, and the size and number of plants at that location will depend on the intentions of future investors. As Pavlović points out, the City of Prijedor will in the next period send a request to the Government of RS for the transfer of land in the planned zone.
The mayor of Prijedor points out that negotiations are underway with a number of potential investors, and three of them are considered as very important for the city.
– As we are now in a sensitive phase of negotiations, we can not reveal some details, but we can say that these are well-known companies in the field of metal industry, automotive and information technology, which will bring not only capital but also new technologies and better jobs – says Pavlović.
The city of Prijedor is traditionally an industrial environment that has based its economic development on the development of mining, wood and metal industry, and most of the investors who come to Prijedor are from these sectors.
In the last few years, the most successful activity of the city of Prijedor is metal processing, taking into account the growing financial indicators, as well as the emergence of new companies in this sector, according to the City Administration.
