On Friday, December 3, the Deputy Mayor of Prijedor, Žarko Kovačević, signed agreements with the companies Neomet and Laz-prom on the purchase and sale of real estate in the Celpak industrial zone, it was announced on the city’s website.
He stated that economic entities that already operate in this industrial zone employ more than 300 workers and expressed hope that the number of those contracts will be increased by the realization of these contracts.
– So far, we have invested more than 1.6 million BAM in this industrial zone. That investment is giving its results and we will continue to do so in the future – Kovačević told reporters in Prijedor.
The director of Neomet, Duško Grbić, said that this company has been working since 1999, that it is engaged in assembly work and that it operates in BiH, Serbia, Croatia, Montenegro and Slovenia.
– We needed to expand our business to production. I hope that we will hire new workers – stated Grbić.
The co-owner of the company Laz-prom, Ljubiša Lazarević, said after signing the contract that he has had good cooperation with the City Administration since its establishment.
This company is primarily engaged in the production of machines for the meat industry and related products, which is the result of careful monitoring of market demand and not such a large number of companies in the area that make this type of product, it was announced from the City Administration.
– Their idea found fertile ground and they were supported by the City Administration to start a business in the Entrepreneurship Incubator, where they still operate today, but due to the need to expand capacity, a new location is necessary, because there are no objective opportunities for growth and advancement – it was stated.
