The construction of the highway from the new bridge on the Sava to Okučani will begin soon, which is a condition for the bridge in Gradiška to be put into operation after the completion of the works, it was confirmed to the “BL portal” from Hrvatske ceste.
The job worth almost 70 million BAM, more precisely 286 million kuna without VAT, after the tender, was awarded to Integral Engineering from Laktasi.
Hrvatske ceste notes that financial resources have been provided for the construction of the highway and that a public procurement procedure for supervision services is underway.
This is the construction of the second phase of the access road in the length of 4.1 kilometers, and the deadline for the completion of works is 24 months. Those two years of deadline could mean that the bridge, the completion of which has been announced for the spring of next year, will be practically unusable for at least another year.
As for the border crossing, there is an initiative for it to be integrated, said a month ago the Minister of Communications and Transport in the Council of Ministers of BiH, Vojin Mitrović.
– I have launched an initiative for the border crossing made by the Republic of Srpska on the part of BiH to be integrated, ie a joint border crossing for BiH and Croatia. That transition was financed by the EU and was done according to European standards. It also provides technical possibilities to perform all controls in one place – Mitrović said at the time.
Hrvatske ceste reminds that there are a little more than nine months left until the completion of works on the bridge and that the deadline is May 30, 2022.
It is expected that the new bridge, when it is put into operation, will significantly relieve the border crossing in Gradiška, open a corridor to Hungary and connect the highway network in Srpska with European roads.
The bridge is expected to be 426 meters long and 22.6 meters wide. It will be built of steel construction, with four lanes, two in each direction.
