Traffic infrastructure in the Republic of Srpska consists of the road network in the Republic of Srpska (106 km of highways, over 4200 freeways and regional roads and over 6000 local roads) and railway traffic intersect (around 425 km of railway network and 90% of the railway is electrified at 25Kv.), the port in Šamac, the dock in Brod, and the airport in Banja Luka.

Banja Luka Airport (IATA: BNX, ICAO: LQBK), is the only airport in the Republic of Srpska which is open for international transport, and second largest airport in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Landline telecommunication service is provided mostly by “Telecom Srpske”, and three telecommunications providers (“m-tel”, “BH Telecom” and “Eronet”) providing services in the whole territory of the Republic of Srpska.

Postal operator “Posts of Srpska” is the public postal operator and provide universal postal services on the whole territory of the Republic of Srpska.

The Republic of Srpska’s energy facilities have a total installed capacity of 1.744 MW. The existing facilities generate around 7.000 GWh of electricity annually, and it takes around 3.500 GWh per year to settle domestic consumption. A Distribution System Operator (DSO) is responsible for granting approval to connect to the distribution network. In Republic of Srpska there are currently five companies licensed to perform the operations of a distribution system operator, and each of them operates within their respective distribution areas:
1) MH ERS ZP Elektro Doboj a.d. Doboj
2) MH ERS ZEDP Elektro-Bijeljina a.d. Bijeljina
3) MH ERS ZP Elektrokrajina a.d. Banja Luka
4) MH ERS ZP Elektrodistribucija a.d. Pale
5) MH ERS Trebinje ZP Elektro-Hercegovina a.d. Trebinje.

The border crossings for the international road transport of passengers and goods are subjects of inspection controls in accordance with the legislation of the Contracting Parties upon entry into the European Union are Stara Gradiška – Gradiška and Nova Sela – Bijača.

Border crossings for the international road traffic of passengers and goods, as well as for the traffic of fruits and vegetables are subjects of the control of compliance with market standards and the establishment of health safety upon entry of goods into the European Union: Županja – Orašje, Ličko Petrovo Selo – Izačić, Vinjani Donji – Gorica, Gornji Brgat – Ivanica.
