Banja Luka: Pewag Group from Austria continues to invest in Republic of Srpska

Pewag Group from Austria continues to invest in Republic of Srpska, and next year they plan to open a new factory in Srbac in the field of industrial textiles, the value of which would be approximately EUR 1 million and would employ around 80 workers.

Thanks to the engagement and support of the Republic of Srpska Representative Office in Republic of Austria, Pewag Group has already made significant investments in Srpska in recent years, and in previous years they have been cooperating with Hidraulika-flex from Laktasi, which is the exclusive representative and partner of this Austrian company for B&H and Serbia for transport chains and all types of chains used for various purposes in industry.

– Through the mediation and direct support of the Republic of Srpska Representative Office in Republic of Austria, one of the most significant investments in the metal sector in Republic of Srpska was realized by the Austrian Pewag Group, with an investment of more than EUR 4 million, planned further investments of more than EUR 2 million, and the opening of more of 150 new jobs – said for the “SRNA” Head of the Republic of Srpska Representative Office in Republic of Austria, Mladen Filipović.

Filipović added that it is very important to maintain the continuity of foreign investments in these challenging times, and that the Republic of Srpska Representative Office in Republic of Austria  actively working on promotion of the economic potential of Srpska, and cooperation with the Pewag Group is one of the most important projects.

– In addition to the success of Hidraulika-flex so far, through the next investment cycle in cooperation with an Austrian partner, it can become one of the leading companies in the production of metal parts for domestic and foreign markets, and would position itself as a leader in the region not only in production but also distribution of Pewag products in B&H and Serbia – said Filipovic.

Hidraulika-flex is engaged in the production of metal parts for the domestic and foreign markets. They employ about 80 workers, mostly young people, in mechanical education.

With the Austrian partner with an investment of more than EUR 4 million in 2019, as well as the newly planned one, Hidraulika-flex plans to expand production capacities and export activities, which would increase the number of employees from 80 to more than in the next three years. 200 workers, which includes development, production, sales, as well as service activities within the Pewag Group.
