Project „Developing accelerators to provide better access to innovation finance for SMEs”-ACCELERATOR, co-funded by the European Union with ERDF and IPA funds through Interred Danube Transnational Programme, gathers 15 partners from 9 countries.
The main objective of the project is to enhance access to innovation finance through improving the institutional framework conditions and related policy instruments by developing the practical solution of acceleration services and influencing the concerned strategic framework at partner’s regions and the Programme level.
The lead partner of the project is the Széchenyi Capital Funds Management Zrt. from Hungary and overall project budget is 1.966.163,42€. The project will be implemented from 1.1.2017. to 30.6.2019.
The Republic Agency for the Development of Small and Medium Enterprises is the only project partner from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Acceleration entails the provision of technical and expert support in combination with equity financing, for start-ups with a global perspective based on innovation. Therefore the primary beneficiaries of the project are SMEs in need of capital but lacking skills to acquire it.
As the project also focuses on integrating equity financing institutions in regional innovation ecosystems, secondary target groups are business support organizations at which new and improved acceleration services will be embedded and the representatives of the public sector organizations responsible for institutional and regulatory framework necessary for the implementation of this kind of SME support programs.
Aside from developing new and improving existing acceleration programs, the project also entails the creation of the Danube-region transnational network, as well as cooperation and knowledge transfer between less and more experienced regions in acceleration programs implementation.
