Support for Local Economic Development
Except institutions which are being developed at the state level, which
are carriers of the activities of establishing decentralized management
system of EU funds and have direct support from a large number of
international institutions, units of local government are the base from
which to generate the majority of future proposals whose implementation
will contribute to further local economic development.
It is obvious
that the current capacities of local government are not sufficiently
trained to be actively involved in the issues put before them by putting
a new method of managing affairs of the local economic development.
To
help them to better face the challenges brought by the process of
European integration, the Republic Agency for Development of Small and
Medium Enterprises has initiated a program of support for local economic
development.
The purpose of this program is that, within the legal
and normative environment, all municipalities in the Republic of Srpska
gives equal chances for the establishment and development of
infrastructure for managing the processes of local economic development,
their vocational-technical education and bringing local government on
an equal level when the process management of local economic development
is concerned, while respecting the needs of individual local authority
according to the degree of development and the needs that they have
individually.
